Jail records show John Kenneth Zinno was charged with robbery, contempt of court, grand larceny, failing to stop for police and more, on Monday, July 17.

Zinno was being sought by police for robbery at Atlantic Union Bank in the 1000 block of Warrenton Road, after showing a teller the note demanding cash around 12:20 p.m., Stafford County Sheriff's Major C. Shawn Kimmitz said.

Authorities circulated Zinno's photo on social media, which helped identify him. Police learned he left the bank without getting the cash, and that he was expected to be at a Spotsylvania County pawn shop later in the day.

Sure enough, Zinno and two other men, later identified as Winn Spears, 51, and James Harris III, 57, showed up at the shop.

Detectives with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office joined Spotsylvania deputies to maintain surveillance of the pawn shop. Their efforts quickly paid off as the suspect and the two other subjects returned to the pawn shop at 3:13 p.m. All three were quickly detained.

Winn and Harris were also charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy, authorities said. All three men were held without bond.
